Common questions

Do I need an account?

No Kaolin account is required. Records stay on the device where you start a count; iPhone and Watch histories are separate. This version does not sync your journal through iCloud. The app requests that health files stay out of device backups, so do not rely on a backup to restore your journal after losing or changing a device. You can export recent records you want to keep. See the privacy policy for details.

How do I change the language?

Open Quickening’s Settings and choose your preferred language. The app supports English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

Why am I not receiving reminders?

Check your reminder time in Quickening’s Settings and whether reminders are paused or your recording journey is marked as finished. In your iPhone’s Settings, also check that notifications are allowed for Quickening. Focus and other device notification settings can affect delivery.

How does the Apple Watch connection work?

Check that the Watch option is enabled in Quickening’s Settings and that your iPhone and Watch are paired and able to communicate. Live sessions exchange events while the paired device is reachable; they are not queued for later delivery. The device where you start a session saves that session. This live connection does not synchronise your saved histories.

Can I export my records?

Use the PDF export option in Quickening’s Settings. The app prepares a fresh document with your latest 28 non-excluded counts, your usual range where available and any “felt different” flags. You decide where to save or send it using the share sheet.

How do I remove my information?

Removing a count in Rhythm only excludes it from history, comparisons and newly generated exports. Copies you have already exported or shared are not updated automatically. On iPhone, use Settings → Pause or finish → Delete data on this device. This deletes counts, your name, due date and pregnancy-related settings and temporary exports, and turns reminders off. Non-health preferences, such as language, scene and the Watch toggle, are kept; your pregnancy profile and counting-style choices are reset. Delete Watch records separately using Delete data on this device on the Watch’s start screen. Earlier backups and copies you have already saved or shared are not removed. See the full explanation of removal and retention.

Does Rose pond remove all ads?

Yes. The one-time Rose pond purchase removes ads throughout Quickening, even when you use a free scene. There is no subscription. If access is missing after reinstalling or changing devices, use Restore purchases with the Apple Account that made the purchase. Buying the theme does not send your journal to us.

Where are the ad privacy choices?

In an ad-enabled build, look in Settings → Ad privacy choices when the option is available for your region. You can refuse or change your choices without losing access to counting or your records. The free app may show an ad after every third saved or explicitly discarded phone/iPad session, at most once per 24 hours. Counting, unsaved results, History and Watch are ad-free. Designated internal tests use sample ads. See advertising and privacy choices for details.

A journal, with care

Quickening is a wellness journal for recording baby movements. It is not a diagnostic tool or an emergency monitoring service. This support inbox is for the app; questions about your pregnancy or your baby’s movements belong with your maternity care team.
